Hi there
Running TI11 Build 8053 but when I try to create bootable rescue media using Acronis Media Builder I get the following message with whatever CD-R disc I put in my CD-R drive: E00460007 Bad media Message The processing bar almost reaches the end of the window and then the message is displayed whilst the media is automatically ejected. Has anyone else come across this issue? Is this a bug or is there something wrong with my system. I have tried both CD-R and CD-RW discs; multiples of both but with no success. Have also logged this with Acronis Support who have suggested a number of things none of which, unfortunately, have worked. Can anyone out there help with advice on this? Thanks in advance. If nothing else works, try making the .iso file of it and afterwards use you burning software to burn the cd.

Hi DwnNdrty
Thanks for the suggestion. I have managed to make the .iso file as suggested and then burn it to CD. However, I am not clear how and weather I can test that it works as the user manual is not very clear on that point. Do you just make sure that (i) you BIOS is set to boot from CD, (ii) the CD with the .iso is in the drive and then (iii) hit F11 during the boot process? Thanks in advance for any further advice you can provide. Regards Baldrick ![]() |

If you didn't, you need to burn the ISO file to the CD using Nero or another program that can burn ISO images to CDs. If you look at the contents of your CD and see the ISO file, then it's not burned correctly.
To boot the CD, set your BIOS to boot from the CD, put the CD in and reboot. You don't have to press F11. The CD should boot to the Acronis menu.

Hi MudCrab
Thanks for that. Something must have gone wrong with the burn (as I use Nero). Will try it again and hopefully it will work this time. Regards Baldrick |

If using nero Burning Rom, then after opening the Bruning Rom program, click on File, Open, then find the iso file and select it -- Nero will then understand that it is an iso (a cd image file) to be burned as an image rather than as just another file in a compilation on a data CD.

Can I just ask a quick question here........
Simply burning the ISO to a CDR, will that make the CD 'bootable' ?

Yes, it does. And for anyone who has Nero but is not too sure about how to burn an iso the simplest method is to right click the iso file and select Open with ...
Doing it that way Nero automatically goes into iso-burning mode. |

Just to be clear, the ISO file has to be burned to the CD as an image (like Nero and other ISO burners will). You can't just burn the ISO file to the CD like you would an MP3 or standard file.
