another one

even though i would never use this,

is the 6 months taken from when the key is sent, or when its used?

edit:

nevermind, i checked it myself.

gave me 7 months, and not 6 though.

im sure my brother will have it

Well, as my NOD32 licence, which I had for three years in succession, expires this month, I'll give this a go!
Thanks for the link

Up & running a full scan as I type.

The "expert" mode seems the way to go; particularly useful is the ability to set the update frequency to suit oneself.

Thanks! I signed up with 2 different email id's so I can use it for 1 year, or give one to my dad. That will work right?

No- I believe that you'll have 2 keys both expiring on 7/2/08. It's also not additive to any free keys that you currently have (ie- my last key was to expire on 3/23/08. I used this one and it changed the date to 7/2/08).

Give the second key to Dad.

Nice offer, but what would really make me buy antivir and stick with it is if they included http scanning in the premium version and not just the suite, that just really boils me up. I really hope in version 8 they do this for the customers...

I love free samples. This is almost as good as Saturday afternoon at the supermarket.

Hmm.... I have two months left on my Norton subscription. I wonder if I should install this now or wait.

Install it now.

It is worth the added incremental protection you get. Avira detection rates higher than Symantec in every category according to AV-Comparatives. Worry over occasional false positives is overdone. I have never had a fp with Avira on over 70 machines running high risk 16 hours a day. Just make sure you use the Norton Removal Tool and then use CCleaner to get the rest of Norton off of your system. The removal tool does not get it all-I know I have done it dozens of times.

This is a 3rd time I have updated my Avira AntiVir Premium licence by a link got from reading Wilders. Applied the hbedv.key from mail and now my license is valid upto July 3rd.
It was valid already until March, but not sure if another offer would be given before that time closer so to be sure I updated the licence.

They should extend the licenses with 6 months if someone complains.

I really don't understand this. Avira got a free version allready, constantly hands out free licences for the premium and suite and you want them to to give free licences to every existing customer.
Do u want them to go bankrupt or wot.
