Default Can Comodo 2.4 Affect Intial Dial up Speed

Ok this may be a silly question but I needed to activate some art software and so rather then buy a whole security suite I just used the Comodo 2.4 on the computer to keep the system safe while I activated things. The Comodo 2.4 installed flawlessly and I hooked to the net and I got my software activated. However the dial up connection speed I get is about half what I normally get. Everything else seems fine. Very impressive firewall too in my opinion. I wonder though if it is causing problems on the initial dial up connection.
