Default Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - Opinions?

How good it is? Especially comparing to SAS and Windows Defender. Thanks.

I really don´t have a clue. Personally, I´d rather use the more well known products from bigger companies (Kaspersky,Avira), to me it´s likely that their products got a bigger and better signatures database.

I tried this for a short period of time, MBAM is still being worked on to release a final version.(it's still beta)

So IMO SAS would be a better choice being a proven product.
Unless you like testing out beta software,in which case my only suggestion would be to make sure you have a good back up/image/snapshot plan just in case. It happens......it happened to me. Not from MBAM but from another software developer. So i'm staying away from any beta anymore.
WD I would not even consider myself. But that's just me.

Is this an on-demand scanner or does it run resident?

Right now I believe it's still just on-demand.
But it should have a guard by final release.

Thanks Lone Wolf. I have downloaded the Beta version. It looks like the paid version will have the resident monitor. It is right now an on-demand scanner with both a quick and full scan option.

I have been using it now for about a week. I like the scanner. I had one false positive that was fixed with the public release (version 0.87). The public release can be found at:

http://majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_A...are_d5756.html

It has a quick and full scan mode. I have not tried the resident monitor. Looks like it may be functional in the public version.
