i think im going to pick up a lic for kis7 and a few have told me about the registry edit to eliminate the tagging.. does this 150% work? has anyone verified that it def works and if it does minus the slower scan times will there be any effect

the registry edit that will make the iswift no longer function. and i can edit the registry just fine, i just need to know if this edit for kav actually does stop the object id's as many have told me it does.

Yes, when you uncheck iSwift within the graphic user interface or during installation, it only prevents on-demand scans from using it. Real-time protection will still use it.
However, one can disable that, too, from within the registry, by going to... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\AVP7\profiles\File_Monitoring\settings ...and set the UseIStreams key to 0 instead of the default 1. Reply With Quote this is what i was talking about..
