It should actually be PE Premium - regardless of the installer file name.

Tip: As for loading the keyfile, download the HBEDV.key in the email from Avira. During the install when it asks for the key, click browse and go to the location of the HBEDV.key

They all seem to have workstation in the file name. Its the letters on the end that distinguishes them.

I've used antivir on and off for a long time, i've alway been impressed with its performance and detection level.

The original CHIP offer was for six months but looks like Avira got overwhelmed after I posted the link here at Wilders. Still they were kind to leave it at 3 months.

Is the suite a good suite? and to be honest i haven't heard anything good or bad about it?

As it seems ppl choose AVG suite or KIS suite or now Eset suite etc but not Avria Suite?

Is the firewall good compared to Comodo, KIS firewall, etc....

Or does this suite have the engines from Kaspersky latest version?

    The suite works pretty ok.
all the suites you are mentioning are pretty good these days. You just have to try for yourself

    Re: Avria Antivirus

I don't use the Suite because I don't need a software firewall (I use ProcessGuard full version to control what calls out and I am behind a router). So, I'll let others who use it answer. From what I read here, and elsewhere on the net, some people love it while some have problems with the Firewall and/or the http scanner. Like ANY AV program, you need to test it on YOUR setup to see if it works well for you and if you like it. That's why there are free trials. So, I'd say get it and see what you think.

    Re: Avria Antivirus

The firewall is ok but you would definitely want to set it to "high" which closes all your ports versus the default "medium" which doesn't.

As far as outbound protection, it's fair and has been improved since last tested but its not anything like Comodo.

Using a router or windows firewall for inbound protection and a HIPS (like online armor free) would more than do alongside Avira PE Premium.:)

All this said, I do use the suite and find it works very smoothly and without problems or annoyances.

I recently added Online Armor free (only the HIPS of it) just as an extra layer of protection, or just for fun. :)

    Re: Avria Antivirus

Every time I try to enter the licence key it tells me it's rejected!
This has been ongoing for while, even after re-registering & re-downloading.
Is there a registry entry, hidden, from a previous trial version?
I can find no Avira entries using regedit.

    Re: Avria Antivirus

one thing the only thing for me that i find effective from the suite is the HTTP scan the rest i don't need.

as Comodo is a better firewall and 3.0 will have a hips so....

or could i custom install it a not install there firewall and antispam and use the HTTP guard?

btw there web guard is only http scan right?

Yes, you can do a custom install and not include the firewall. :)

    Np,

Also, the Webguard scans only http as far as I know. Not https, etc.

ive noticed that Avria does not have hourly updates?

and doesn't Avria antivirus use the Kaspersky engine? so it would have the signatures plus there own?
