Default ESS 3.0.551.0 and slow windows logon

I have clean installation of Vista Business 32bit with only ESS and WLAN drivers and I notice a dramatic logon delay with ESS installed. System waits from 15 to 20 seconds and keeps showing me the splash screen and I see no system resource usage in taskmanager. Disabling splash didn't help. I have WLAN PCI addon card (Dlink Airplus G DWL-G510 rev C) and I have disabled motherboards LAN. I noticed this problem with my old system and thought it might go away if I did a clean install but no

Update: I installed all updates that were listed in Windows Update and no change

Have any of you noticed the same issue?

Core 2 Duo E6750
Asus P5KR motherboard
2gb DDR2 667mhz
Windows Vista Business 32bit clean install (15min old )
