Hi. I'm attempting to run the ESET Online Scanner. Each time I try to install the ActiveX control I get the following error message: "Initialization of the ESET online scanner. error: cannot initialize onlinescanner. administrator rights required". I am the only person who uses my computer so I'm always on as the Administrator.
I'd appreciate any assistance. Thanks. cadre |

Are you running the browser with limited rights (DropMyRights, StripMyRights)?

An interesting question; I don't know. I've never had problems running, downloading or installing anything before. How would I find out if I'm running with limited rights? I'm using IE7 in Vista Home Premium.
Thanks. cadre |

The default user account in Vista has standard rights. Also, the browser runs with low IL and ActiveX is disabled by default.
I've played very little with Vista, but you should have a way to start IE with full admin rights.

Right click on the IE icon, then select "Run as Administrator".
