Default ID-Blaster / AVG 7.0 Free, Reg No. Lost

ID-Blaster resets, deletes or changes AVG 7.0 registration number. After randomization I need to use the repair option of AVG and reenter the registration number. I'm a fairly advanced user and haven't a clue as to what's going on. An earlier post suggested that AVG is somehow tied to the ID numbers, but that doesn't begin to explain why the reg no should appear to be missing.

Does anyone have solid, well founded information or a fix for this issue? I'll continue to plug away and post any findings I come up with.
