McAfee Virus Scan not updating.

Has anyone been able to update their AV to DAT 5135? It was released yesterday and I still have not be able to receive the automatic update.

If I still can't update the AV how do I manually update it. I see that on this site

it has 3 files types to choose from to receive the update.

Do I choose the .zip file, the .tar file, or the .exe file? Which is best?

Also what is this that I must have?

"You must have a current PrimeSupport agreement
in order to be entitled to download product
updates and upgrades, including engine and DAT
updates. By downloading any of these files,
you acknowledge that you currently have a
valid PrimeSupport agreement with Network
Associates."

I'm using the McAfee provided by AOL and I don't think I have this.

it sounds like you are trying to use an enterprise av update on a copy of mcafee home edition. you need to update it through the av options. you should not have to manually update it at all.

 

well I still can't receive an update. I always get the "No update is available." message, when I know for a fact that there is.

 

I don't know what the problem is you are having, but all of the years I have used McAfee if it says there is no update available there isn't. And on the weekend sometimes they don't update unless it is an emergency release. You will more than likely receive any available updates on monday.
