Hi
I have just installed Spywareguard 2.2. After using `live update` I find that the date of the update is 1/22/04. 2004? A bit out of date isn`t it? Have I actually got the latest update? Cheers: brads |

Hello,
in fact that is the latest update. Although obviously old defs, SWG can still be useful. See here, http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...0033?#12411725 snowbound |

hi, i just downloaded spywareguard 2.2 and have 8/30/07 defs. Live update doesn't work returning an error. I know there is a 1/22/04 update. Is there a way to download that file manually. Of course I'd really like to get that update.
thanks for any suggestions or assistance jem |

Well I did a little search on the forum to post my 1st question.
And indeed the reason I joined this forum is, like it seems many of ppl have discovered that the definitions of SWG are (I hope you'll agree all with me that this is a serious understatement), a bit out of date. My first update installed definitions of 8/30/03. I thought this was a joke, so I immediately hit the update button again: only to discover a fresh update was installed. Date: 10/22/04. So I thougt I'd hit the update button a third time. Unfortunately I didn't get a new update... So why are these updates "discontinued" ? Is it because they are mostly "heuristic" ? This could mean false positives.... Last edited by GuyD : September 30th, 2007 at 01:32 PM. |
