Anyone using AVGAM?
What is your assessment of it? It scored well on IBK's tests and AVG has the reputation of running well on the vast majority of computers. Thanks, Jerry

Ditto. Read the AV-Comparatives report carefully, there are a few weak points as compared to other advanced+ AV's.

I am running the Trial as of tonight. It seems really light, if you can overlook the slow loading of Outlook 2007 (Vista OS, btw). That loads kinda slow with no av, so a tad slower seems normal anway. Does not slow down browsing speed on the web at all. Update is set to every 24 hours, but you can adjust to every hour. Not sure how often it updates actually just yet, but there was an update today I know.

EDIT (15 minutes after the above comment) -- I just did a search on "polymorphic" at the forum for AVG Free. I found the following comment from a Grisoft Team Moderator on THIS post... Quote:
GOOD news for AVG fans!!!

I don't want to go too much off-topic, so I reccommend those interested in such things to read a very interesting article HERE.

First things first, the update pops up on the screen with no way to make it invisible taht I can find. I do not like that.

I have moved along. Its heavier than Avira/NOD on my pc. Update popping up ontop of whatever Im working on. Slowed Outlook to a crawl, especially creating a new email. PC seems alot more responsive after removing it. It looked good, thats about it.

I tried it for a little, but I couldn't deal with the low detection rates compared to other AV's.
