Hi Igor_Biscan,

Assuming your AdAware is up-to-date you can skip Step1
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=15913

Once you post your log, someone will be happy to help you analyze it.

Pieter

Hi Igor,

That means it was started up anyway.
Please boot into safe mode and delete it there.
It is the file that is downloading the popups.

Pieter

That is strange indeed.
Please have a look here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...648~mode=flat?
You will find three options to delete files that are in use.

I believe it is best to remove new.net by Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. If it is removed incorrectly then Internet access can be lost and be very hard to recover from. Usually the easiest way to recover after this happens is a Format and reinstall.

This site shows the recommended removal procedure:

Hi yokenny,

You are right, but that only applies if NewDotNet is installed.
There is no sign of it in his running processes and a scan with AdAware was already done.
That is why I did not advise to uninstall it first.

Pieter

I see. I have been burned by new.net (pronounced newDOTnet) several times. I believe there are several varients of this application and unless removed correctly then Internet access could be lost.

If Ad-aware removed the application and Internet connection is still working then this is good.

Just wanted to share my bad experience and the solution I found.

Yes, this happened a lot with the former versions of AdAware, especially buildnumber 5. Winsock repair was needed to get your connection back.
