Default OEM XP in VM?

I am thiking to install XP in VM( VirtualBox). I wonder if it is legal to install an OEM XP Home in VM or not? OEM,s licence is tied with mobo and mobo may change hundreds of a time in VM.

Thanks for any help.

I am actually not sure about this you stated. Many hardware components are emulated under VM, but not the m/b. It should have same specs as your host m/b.

But even if it's emulated, as you said OEM s/n is tied to the m/b, so installation under VM would not accept your OEM s/n. Different m/b - different s/n. Have you actually tried to install OEM on a VM?

My understanding is you need another WinXP license to run XP in a virtual machine. This is in contrast to multi-booting.
