I’ve read most of the posts on dual-boot but I’m still not clear on the proper approach. I’ve just built a new PC from scratch to run Windows Vista.

I have three identical 320 GB internal hard drives. I currently have one drive loaded with Vista and one loaded with Windows XP in a dual-boot configuration. Since I could see both drives from both operating systems, I went to the device manager and disabled the XP drive in Vista and disabled the Vista drive in XP so that I wouldn’t inadvertently write to the wrong drive.

I want to use the third drive (or an external drive) as the backup device. Shouldn’t I be able to use TI to backup both respective drives? And in the event I need to recover from the backup, shouldn’t it preserve the dual-boot settings for both drives?

    Thanks...

I don't see why the dual boot setting wouldn't be there in a restored drive. But instead of disabling the drives give them unique names instead of the default "Local Disk".

And you can always do an actual Recovery test to one of your spare drives to test it.
