Default virual machine under vmware can't get ip

host enviornment:
vmware workstation 6.0
looknstop 2.06
phant0m rulsetset 7 build 7.1d

vmware guest os:
windows xp sp2 pro english, network card running in bridge mode
no personal firewall installed.
windows xp firewall is stopped.

the guest os has network communcation problem.
Neither getting ip from dhcp or manual assigned an ip.

the guest os can't access to any network (local, Internet)

I authorized all vmware processes.

Before installing looknstop, I was using zonealarm as personal firewall and running guest os without a problem once vmware process is authorized.

Are there any looknstop settings to work with vmware ?

Default Re: virual machine under vmware can't get ip

Hi,

Yes, there are special rules to be added on the host machine to allow VM to connect to internet.

This is explained in this thread:
