Default IMON replacement

I do not use any of the common email programs like Outlook. One of the good features of NOD32 is that it is not application specific and IMON has been very effective in catching infected email.

What happens when IMON is dropped in v.3? Will email be detected only by EMON, in which case it will only work with certain email clients?
