I've been tasked with finding a monitoring program to help in debugging a large LABView application. It is one of the largest LV programs out there, can have many open windows spread over multiple displays and can run for days on end. What typically happens when there is a problem is that the user can't specify what he was doing prior to the problem
Desired capabilities are: - must work with LABView windows (obviously) as well as other PC applications - log LV and other PC program start and stop times - log windows opened, closed and receive focus along with time - must work within our network antivirus and other security measures - able to be used on PCs in secure areas - should normally run as hidden or be non-cancelable by normal users - export of log into .txt, .csv, excel or similar format for analysis - optional remote collection of logs, placement of logs in network location, or periodic emailing of logs - optional periodic snapshots of PC resources - shouldn't have keystroke logging (per our IT department) but if it could log just LV keystrokes I could probably get that past IT. It might be possible to get a keystroke logging program in, though, if I jump through the right hoops. The main problem I'm running into when trying to Google for these is that this smacks of spyware. Either the company supplied antivirus program blocks or sanitizes the download or websites are blocked. If I can get suggestions for specific programs I can, hopefully, get IT permission to check them out. Last edited by riechert : May 22nd, 2007 at 05:55 PM. |

Could there be anything in SysInternals that might help?
Process Explorer and Process Monitor may be a bit too microscopic for your purposes though. Just a wild shot as there were no other replies. ![]() Last edited by Aspirin : May 23rd, 2007 at 04:36 PM. |
