Default Basic W2K Security

I've put together some links and info that may help if you're tired of fighting with a lack of training or bad info. These sites will definitely point you in the right direction.

Win2000 and most XP Security

http://www.analogx.com/contents/articles/ipsec.htm - Free preconfigured IPSec template download.

http://www.cisecurity.org/ - Free Benchmark Tool and detailed security setup instructions

http://www.ipcop.org/ - Free Linux based standalone firewall - ISO download

http://www.smoothwall.org - Free version of commercial side of IPCop

http://csrc.nist.gov/ - W2K Security templates preconfigured for different uses

http://www.nsa.gov/snac/index.html - Free W2K Security templates preconfigured as above but tighter

Microsoft, Call (800) 360-7561: Call them for free CD's on security tools and Service pack updates you may have to pay shipping on some. Some are 100 % free like the Security toolkit.

Hope this helps if you've been beating your head against the wall trying to figure out "how to".
