Hi
I'm not too sure if this will work but you could try moving your IconCache.db to a folder of your choice just in case something goes wrong so you can restore it if need be.It is situated in < Documents and Settings > User > Local Settings>Application Data >
Reboot and a new one should be recreated and maybe cure the problem.

http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/P...icle.asp?ID=56
http://dundats.mvps.org/Windows/Win9...lIconCache.htm

Also noted to work for someone there was changing screen and color resolution to different values, then back.
