That has happened to others. The chipset in your usb enclosure is not supported by True Image. You can try making a BartPE cd to include the Acronis plugin or try another usb drive.

...make the image in win...if you with the rescue cd choose restore instead of backup you will have a diff display and probably see it with the image...

Are you using TI 10 Home? Your bootable cd probably contains TI "Full" version and TI "Safe" version. "Full" version has USB drivers; "Safe" version does not.
In my case, the cd automatically booted into the "Safe" version - no USB drivers. Could not see my USB drive. I made a new bootable cd containing only the "Full" version and this resolved the problem. Good luck. J. |

Allright, explaining again...This is a very common problem for new ATI users who think that usb drives should be detected in the rescue cd full mode...it´s quite simple...When you make an image from the rescue cd usb drives will not be seen in the backup "tree"...But in win it´s detected for backup...So,if you made the image inside windows to your USB drive, reboot with the rescue disk full mode and click on restore (not backup) and, voila,in the tree you will have full detection of all drives,USB included...The main thing here is to be able to restore from USB using the recovery disk, backup you can always do inside win,right?...English? rgs |

Dang ... you mean my ver 9 build 3677 Rescue CD was not working right when it sees my usb drive as a destination for the backup image!! I'll have to demand a refund. LOL.

Fine, good for you, give it to charity or homeless people...Mixed up in a haste USB detection with CD/DVD drive detection...But I guess the same could be the case for USB...At least worth a try if you have the problem...Let´s see if the topic starter returns with joy ...

Hello Henri,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software. We are sorry for the delayed response. Please make sure you have recreated Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after updating to the latest build. Please also make sure the usb drive is connected and powered on before booting from the media. If that is not the case, please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post. If the issue persists, please collect some information to let us investigate it thoroughly: Please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Please keep the drive in question connected and powered on during the creation process. Please also collect the exact vendor and device names of the hard drive in question. Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution. P.S. Please also note that a possible workaround is to use a BartPE-based bootable CD created using Acronis True Image plug-in for BartPE and allowing one to boot the computer into a Windows-like environment loading the appropriate drivers for any hardware devices installed in the computer at startup. Acronis True Image plug-in for BartPE comes with the Acronis True Image installation and can be found in the \Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\BartPE folder. Thank you. -- Marat Setdikov
