Default Re:hijack this log

Hi makiavelli,

There is a very sneaky one in your log.

expIorer.exe (note the capital I instead of l)

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Configuration Loader] expIorer.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mapisvc32] C:\WINDOWS\System32\mapisvc32.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ledlgo] C:\WINDOWS\System32\ledlgo.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Configuration Loader] expIorer.exe

O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler V3.exe
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Then reboot and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mapisvc32.exe

Could you please zip up
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ledlgo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\expIorer.exe
and mail them to the address in my profile please?
They appear to be new malware and I'd like to submit them.

Regards,

Pieter

Default Re:hijack this log

Hi makiavelli,

Not quite there yet:

Please try this:
Start > Run > type or copy&paste services.msc > OK
In the right hand side of the screen find the
[Configuration Loader] expIorer.exe service.
Then stop that service.
Then rightclick it and choose properties, on the general tab set startuptype to never.
Bring up TaskManager to check if the process has disappeared off the list of running processes. If not kill it there as well.

Then have HijackThis fix:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Configuration Loader] expIorer.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Configuration Loader] expIorer.exe

Then delete: C:\WINDOWS\System32\expIorer.exe
Make sure to get the right one.

Keep us posted,

Pieter
