Just curious to see which AV will protect you better.

probably the advantage would be in kav's favour. the behaviour blocker, pdm detects quite a lot of malware that nods heuristics would minimizing nod's advantage.
Still overall it shouldn't matter, just go for the one you like.

both are class av's and i found it hard choosing between them.
thats why when i build my new pc it will have nod32 on it while my current pc will keep kis6.0

Nod has great heuristics, but Kaspersky provides better protection because it has a vast number of signatures, faster updates and the PDM (although not for newbies, it is easy enough for most people to use it) :)

both are good AV and provide excellent protection.

KAV would be my first choice though.

true, NOD's GUI does need some hardcore enhancing... a shame really how such a great AV can have such a poor GUI... puts many users off

lets stick to the topic, remember, OP said "which AV till protect better" so speed, GUI, stability, resource usage or anything like that doesnt come into the equation... only protection does.

well, kaspersky has a better detection, but nod32 has far better heuristics so should catch new threats better, it depends how you look at it.

both are great so try them and see which you prefer.

The current GUI isn't poor, but is more for advanced users... ;)
Next version will have a new simple and advanced GUI...

Another way of looking at it is with the amount of updates Kaspersky provides, signatures for such threats would be in the database quite quickly so those new threats would be detected just as quick.

Both are excellent prorams. I have used both, but somehow kaspersky didnt like my machine or vice versa. So thats why i use NOD32 at the moment. Try both and see which one suites you better. Which ever one you choose, you cant go wrong. :D

I also have some difficulties to choose between KAV/KIS or NOD32...
At the moment I am running a trial of NOD32 as antivirus and the free Comodo Firewall to secure my applications and network-interface...
Works quite well for the moment ;-)

I am waiting for the new av-comparatives results :-/
And the post from Marcstom is frightening me too!?

I've had an overall better experience with Kaspersky over NOD32. But I am going to trial NOD32 V3 when it comes out.
