I use McAfee Antivirus because I get it for free with my Verizon with MSN subscription, but a friend's Mcafee was expired and she wanted a free antivirus so I downloaded the free version of AVG for her, updated it, and ran a scan. Does anyone know if you can set the free version up to check automatically for updates, and also to run scheduled scans in the background like I do with McAfee?

AVG free includes automatic updating and scheduled scanning. The free version only has limited configuration options, but for the average user the default settings should be fine.

under schedules i see where it's scheduled to do an update, but i don't see anywhere where it shows the scheduled scan, or where i can go in and set what time i want it to do the scan or anything....can you direct me where to go within the program to set the time i would like the daily scan to occur?

Does one of the "limited" config options also prevent a user of this AV from making the selection to bypass quarantine or choosing "ignore" like say AVG AS allows? Thanks |
