Default "malware" ?

as in another thread...who cares whether it's called "spyware" or "virus" or "trojan".

The fact that you have different forums covering "trojans" as opposite to another forum for "viruses" is proof..but IMHO there's no logic in splitting up malware into various sub-sections.

Maybe its just a marketing tool so companies can sell AV programs AND anti spyware programs and charge twice

I am always amazed that the best AV checkers often dont get ANY of the spyware/trojans...and i need several runs of various software to completey clean a PC.
