Dr.Web Users...

Stand up and be counted... I was just curious as to how many Wilders members are using Dr.Web currently, if so, for how long? I've been using Dr.Web for about three months.

I tried Dr.Web and liked it. Would probably have kept it but for the fact that during its frequent updates my browsing would grind to a halt.

 

Proud Dr Web user right here! I can't wait for the new build, they are gonna have a new build, right?

 

I haven't noticed this lately, maybe I'm just use to it now, although, they did just make some changes to their update module.

 

It will release at about the same time as Duke Nukem Forever....

 

I have seen no official mention of a works in progress, by the Dr.Web team, perhaps another user will enlighten us both.

 

I just use its free on-demand scanner, but I don't use it to scan often. Several reasons:
- it doesn't score well in AV Comparatives (and others too). I realise its philosophy and they are rather strict at adding something to its database. But the testbeds of AV Comparatives are very clean and very little rubbish, so this is not an excuse.
- I have tested it previously. Anything detected by it (so does NOD32) can be detected by others (eg AntiVir + KAV + Bitdefender), so it is just like a duplicate on my computer. Note I focus my efforts mainly on trojans/keyloggers etc.
- it doesn't scan fast. (it is actually the slowest among the AVs I am concerned, according to AV Comparatives)

 

I believe the topic of the thread is, are you a current user and for how long ? Not what you don't like about it or av-coomparatives. They have their own threads. Thanks anyway.

Have been using it for some months now.

 

Count me in the DrWEB column. I just renewed and I think its my fourth year now.. . Yes there is a new Version 5 in the works and I think they are looking at early next year, how early who knows. Hmm... the above sounds like you are still not sure what should be discussed in this thread. Actually it is you who creates the thread, so you should know what you want.

You are asking whether we are Dr.Web users or not, not just a question for Dr.Web user only. Thus it seems this welcomes both Dr.Web users and non-Dr.Web users.

If it was changed into "If you are a user of Dr.Web, please tell me how long you have used it!"

then I might have not left that post......... but since I have used its free on-demand scanner for quite some time, so I may post this one anyway. I would leave out the "reasons" if you specifically state you don't want to hear any anti-Dr.Web comments or any bad things about Dr.Web though!

I use Dr Web, and like it very much. I've been using it, on one machine or another, since 4.26, a long time ago. And I know this wasn't asked, and it is a discussed for the appropriate thread, but I very muxh agree with Dr Web;s philosophy. That's why I've stayed with them for so long.

im a dr.web user whenever i try the stand-a-lone, its my current favourite AV, i use it when i dont have my suite installed.

i'm using Dr.web for 2 months, & using Nod32 too, switch from kav.
