    Hello,

I just installed SB and all is well & smooth.

The SB page says no more yes/no questions...does that mean that I can now set my "download signed activeX controls" and "script safe activeX controls" and "run activeX controls & plugins" all to "enable" and let SB handle the protection?

    current settings are:
    download signed=prompt
    download unsigned=disable
    script safe=prompt
    script unsafe=disable
    run controls & plugins=prompt

Please let me know if my assumptions are correct.

    Thanks,

    ZR

No - never set "download signed ActiveX controls" to enable!

SpywareBlaster will block the installation of known ActiveX-based spyware. If you set that option to enable, any ActiveX control that is signed, and that isn't targeted by SpywareBlaster, will be downloaded without you knowing it, automatically, when you browse a webpage. Not only will you probably find some unwanted toolbars installed on your system, but if a spyware program isn't yet targeted by SpywareBlaster, you won't even get a Yes/No prompt asking if you wish to download it. (Targeted ActiveX controls would still be blocked.)

You should keep the "download signed ActiveX controls" setting at "prompt". :) That option, coupled with SpywareBlaster's protection, should make sure you are good to go.

    Best regards,

    TNX for the info,

    I have changed settings to:
    download signed=prompt
    download unsigned=disable
    script safe=enable
    script unsafe=disable
    run controls & plugins=enable

No more yes/no nags so far.

I just wanted to make sure these are the recommended settings plus Spywareblaster for best protection without yes/no nags.

    Thanks again,

    ZR

Java, as far as the rest of the Active-X settings of ZR, would you recommend those also? Or would you say that the script active-x marked as safe, and run controls and plugins, should also be set to "prompt," instead of "enable"?
    THanks.
