I decided this trial software works well enough for me. I can backup whole partions fast, it bit checks, and I can retrieve deleted files on an individual basis. It does differential backups as well to my external drive or the a CD or DVD. There is a bootable disk feature with the paid version.

What I'm wondering is if anybody knows of discounts / coupon offer sources I could use as I'm retired and don't have a lot of cash ...

    Thanks

Thanks anyway. This led to discounted disk copy software, not the Paragon Drive Backup 8.0 personal edition.

However, I begged and pleaded and got a 30% discount off from the German head office. So 30% off $50.00 isn't bad.

The coupon code was PST30 and I really don't see why that code wouldn't work for everyone.

The product installed very fast and smooth. Worked right away.

Backed up whole C drive of 145 GB to 17GB compressed copy on an external Maxtor drive in 28 minutes at "normal" compression using bit checking as it went.

Future backups will be differential and take less time.

Next step is create bootable recovery DVD.

Thanks, I'm sure it has a few glitches but this forum is kind of tilted to the other product well known for whole drive backup and imaging. So my experience with it will not be of great interest will it?
