Default Win2K + SATA: do I need an IDE boot drive?

ASUS P4PE Win2K, SP4 Acronis TI 9, build 3677

I presently am booting from an IDE drive and have 3 additional SATA drives for data. I have had to use TI9 a few times and it has worked well when needed.

Unless I upgrade to WinXP, must I continue to use an IDE drive as my boot drive? I read on the BartPE website that Win2K cannot be used with that disk builder. Is there any other program that can work with TI9 and SATA drivers?

Thanks
Ken K
