Default Turn off USB printer before backup ?

On Amazon.com reviews of True Image, one reviewer stated that he found it advisable to turn off his USB printer before doing backups.

Is there any truth to this ?

Not specifically but TI and some USB chipsets/drives/devices don't play nice together and sometimes funny things like the above may fix a problem. USB hubs can be a problem and sometimes plugging a USB drive into the front USB socket instead of the rear can cause a problem.
