Default File Exclusion

After changing how I was searching, I found several threads indicating that I can't do this even though in the 'Wish List' it was requested and that it is indicated that the feature was implemented.

http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=85595 in the 6th entery down

How do I exclude a directory and all of it's contents from a backup?

I understand that tis ability is there (see : http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=85595 - the 6th entry)
Here is what I've tried so far in the exclusion filter:
c:\DVD\*.*
c:\DVD\*
c:\DVD\*\*.*

After the backup finishes, I browse the resulting file and the folder DVD is still there with all of it's contents.

Any ideas?

Thanks..Curt David

PS

A validation process for exclusions might be useful in future releases.

This comment makes me suspect you are doing an image backup...If so you should know that exclusions can only be done with a file/folder backup. See for example this thread.
