While I can access an OE backup I have no idea what messages it contains. It is a series of numbers which mean nothing. It does contain my addresses which I can read but I have no idea what messages are backed up. A backup is no good unless you are satisfied as to what it contains. Backing up Outlook Express in the normal way I know what I have.
Is there a way I can decipher the numbers?

    Hello clifdene,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

We are sorry for the delayed response.

Please note that you will not be able to see the e-mails (Inbox, Sent, Deleted etc) if you explore the image archive since they are stored in a special Outlook files that cannot be explored. However, you should be able to restore the image archive and get your messages, accounts and settings for Outlook Express to the moment of image creation.

    Thank you.
