Folks in case you are considering to buy Virus Chaser 5.0a 1-Year License, I just found Virus Chaser in the eBAY at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220044406019, bidding price is only US5.99 !

If I remember correctly, this is the first time I found Virus Chaser on sale in eBAY (most of the time it is Symantec stuffs everywhere in eBAY :D ). So take a look and try your luck if you are considering this antivirus.

Virus Chaser is technical affiliate with Dr.WEB, using the same Dr.WEB engine and share the same VDB.

    Hope this information may help.

There's something very strange about that eBay Link....I found it especially funny that the seller actually refers to the Wikipedia entry of Virus Chaser which was created by me. Good to be referenced for once :D

Is this a legitamate deal? I hope this is legal. I'd like to be able to compare Dr Web and VirusChaser.

The seller does have a 100% positive comments record and accepts PayPal payments, which most scammers don't, so I'm not sure :doubt:

His 100% positive feedback is based on a feedback score of 2.

According to the listing this is a cd-rom with key included or the seller will e-mail the d/l link and key.
If paying by PayPal this may not be as risky as it appears.PayPal does have Buyer Protection on some items.I'd check that out before bidding.

The feedback of only 3 transactions is not inspiring though.

I checked the item on eBay.
The seller lists a money-back refund thru PayPal.
However, there is no Buyer protection for this item from PayPal.

Hm...The number of comments for the reseller have increased in the positive, but all the comments are provided by people living in Hong Kong, and that too for products such as ball point pens....

Seems like the seller is adding more and more Virus Chaser to the eBAY. Positive feedback is increasing a bit.

US$11.99 + US$4.99 shipment (free for deliver digitally via email), reasonable to buy ?

The price is definitely good, knowing that I paid a lot more for my VC license....

The price sounds good as long as the seller delivers.

I just went and purchased VirusChaser via ebay. At $12 it was worth the potential risk. I am interesting in learning about this AV. I have started a thread here in which that topic can be further discussed.

I would just like to add that per policy I requested and was granted a refund. VC does not use the same heuristic engine as Dr Web, at least not to the same degree. It's very subtle, but I've decided to use the regular, and rottweiler strength, Dr Web. There is no difference in detection of variants between the two. But that does mean, as the email below says, that the ebay seller is a legitimate VirusChaser reseller. That is very good news. And I encourage all you are in the least bit interested to buy VirusChaser via ebay from this seller

Strangely enough, today I came across something funny. Boneo Scott is a Wilders Security member, he even started a thread about VC...

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=856555#post856555

Did he like the product so much that he became a reseller for it? o_O
