Default Zune Theme from Microsoft for XP (Black Vista theme with an orange "Start" button)

Zune Theme (Black Vista) from Microsoft for Windows XP

It is similar to the black theme in Vista with an orange Start Button and orange progress bar

http://www.zune.net/NR/rdonlyres/855...pthemeopt1.jpg

I like it more than the Royale Theme.

Ya, but I think it would have been more beter if they had made the black color a bit lighter and replaced orange with blue!
Are there anyother such themes by MS?

Thanks. Infact I tried multiple times to search for it at microsoft downloads but seems their search engine is poor. My mistake that I never tried it in Google.

Thanks.

Hi aigle,

Official themes from Microsoft New Zealand:

http://www.microsoft.com/nz/windowsx...s/nzbliss.mspx

There are some other new themes from Microsoft New Zealand, but the Royale theme is no longer available. You can get the Royale theme from Softpedia.

You may also search for the Vista wallpapers from Google. There are quite a lot.

Hi huntnyc,

They are actually msi theme installers. The site gives you a feel of how the desktop wallpaper of the theme looks like. WHen you go to download them, the link is still displayed as jpg, but it will prompt to save the theme file as a msi installer.

Missing something here, Chubb. I can easily get the images to set as wallpaper but I cannot find the msi files. I am using IE 6 and Opera 9. Could you clarify exactly the steps to take on downloading the msi files? Sorry I am missing it. Thanks.

Oh sorry about that...

I have mixed up the two links.

You can download the installers from here:

I think it is not theme. They are just wallpapers, and they are calling them these.

Oh I need to say sorry again.

Yes, you are right, there are only jpg files from the New Zealand MS site.

I downloaded them long time ago and have mixed things up. Sorry about that

The installers are not from Microsoft New Zealand, but from here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

In the link above, you will get the Ontario Theme.

Then down the bottom of the page, you will get the link for Nunavut Theme, Egypt Nile Theme, and the Microsoft Ree Ree Khao Sarn.

Then here is the Thčme Nature 2

http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/o...re2Nature.mspx

San Fermín desktop theme

http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/o...min_theme.mspx

Ireland Desktop Theme

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

And you will have some more themes here at:

http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/o...cMonuHist.mspx

by clicking and expanding the download button

It's all very beautiful, but I grew up with a mainframe terminal, which don't have all these gadgets like wallpaper and screensavers.
A desktop like in post #5 would never be my choice, I like to see my icons clear and not mixed with a picture like that, BUT it's a very nice picture.
I'm probably too sober without any taste for graphics. I must be abnormal.
My desktop is plain blue and contains nothing but icons.

Only icon I have on my desktop is Recycle Bin with all else confined to the quickLaunch bar, other toolbars, start menu and system tray. Plenty of pleace to access icons instead of having many on desktop but I understand what you are used to. I just now have become used to a more minimal look as far as icons on desktop but it is just a matter of taste.

I use my icons, to see if I'm in the right snapshot.
