Just only for your info:
Daniel has recently announced the upgrade plan for The Cleaner 4.0 Pro. Registered users of The Cleaner might like to read the info at the following thread at the MooSoft-forum: http://www.moosoft.com/forum/viewtop...asc&highlight= |

This is a very good initiative taken. its very important that the cleaner sud be upgraded and it will help in the identification and removal of a lot of new trojan horses that have come up recently. the upgradation can make the cleaner much more strong and powerful.

As a registered user of "The Cleaner 3" I am thinking about the upgrade to version 4.
Since there are many competitive anti-trojan programs on the market, do you think it is worth spending 16 Dollars for the latest version 4 of The Cleaner ?? On Wilders.org one can read about the Cleaner: "Cannot cope with polymorphic trojans!" I do not know much about polymorphic trojans, but in general does it mean that there are better scanners out there ?? For my ionline-behaviour: I am just a standard user of the internet getting a bunch of E-mails each day. But I need to be online for almost 20 hours each day (No, not for fun )Thanks for help, Thomas ![]() |

That's actually hard to say at this moment; version 4 has to be tested first ![]() Quote:
Correct - no info on this in regard to version 4 though. Quote:
BOClean, TDS3 and TrojanHunter (in alphabetical order) all do a far better job then the (at least former) The Cleaner. Quote:
A good updated(resident running) antivirus plus mailscanner, resident running antitrojan and well configured firewall plus up to date patched O/S is recommended. regards, paul

hmm, i don't know how, it just says: Scan Completed - No trojans were detected with an empty report... it doesn't even save a log... it seems like you have to test it for yourself, sorry ;(

That seems proof of your pudding. We'll give version 4 a try as soon as Moosoft rolls out the upgrade tickets and time permits. regards. paul

Fish
Now I am a bit "confused" ![]() In TC 4 you click at the top of the screen on "file" - it will open - then go to "view log" - if something is NOT o.k. it will show up there. Otherwise you only will find info about: date, time, which OS, loading options, etc. BTW - did you load the option: "scan inside compressed files and scan for hidden exectables" ?? You'll find it by going: "Options" (at the top) > scanning. Hope this helps ![]()

well, I just downloaded Donald Dick v1.54 and v1.55 and The Cleaner 3.5 detected them both. Antivir PE did to (had to disable first).
I didn't try to run the client or server (not on my main Pc ) but only scanned the complete package in .Zip format.Waldo |

Quote:
That doesn't say much, because the zip package doesn't contain any "final" polymorphic server (dropper)... ![]() You'll have to create some droppers with the building tool (which comes with the package) yourself, if you want to properly test The Cleaner. ![]() BTW: AntiVir does _not_ detect the DD 1.54 droppers... ![]() |
