Default Is BOClean Enough For Anti-Spyware?

How good is BOClean for adware, spyware, and other Malware besides being one of the best for Anti-Torjan.

One of the best if not THE best.

Just read what they have covered: http://www.nsclean.com/trolist.html

So in other words, it is top notch in that area too. WOW! Has there been any reports of adware\spyware\malware that has actually past the defense of BOClean?

Any idea whe they will implement on-deamnd disk scanner?
It is just a memory scanner. Am I right?
I wish to try it against some malware but unfortunaltely there is no trial.

You can most certainly use BC as an on demand scanner; just drag any file onto the Operations Menu, and it will be scanned.

And BC comes with a 30 day money-back guarantee; if you're not happy with how BOClean works, you're 100% certain to receive your money back!

Thanks for the reply. I know that info but was just wondering if there is any plan for usuall on-demand scanner( if any).
I though believe in money back guarantee but to be honest I have no intention to buy it at least at the moment( not that I don,t like it--actually I am using all freeware setup), so just wanted to play a bit! Trials are great for that and also I get some real idea( though just personal) about many products.
BoClean seems a real nice product according to the users comments here.

Not that I recall. The posting of HijackThis logs by users of BOClean are rarer than hen's teeth.

As efficient as BOClean is, there have been reports of malware that actually past the defense of ANY signature/heuristics based program, and that includes BOClean.

With my Setup it does not slow down anything and has a memory impact from about 10-11 MB, only two files in memory.

Thumbs up Re: Is BOClean Enough For Anti-Spyware?

Excellent Question.

I frequently thought about this myself, but while I was thinking about it, it became clear that BOClean was certainly stopping the worst of these offenders. I would recommend using a good scanner from time to time to get rid of the pesky stuff that is not really harmful. (Tracking Cookies for example).

BOClean is really all you need along with a good AV on a resource challenged machine. If it even gets past the firewall of course.

I wonder how that "money back" will work for me, living in Belgium. International payments are quite expensive. I hope they can put my money back on my PayPal Account.

It certainly runs fine with ZAPro.

@Erik-Albert
NSClean is absolutely scrupulous about payment issues.
IME They run one of if not the leanest meanest fastest operations on the web.

Check the speed of responses when there is a problem.
If you have some doubts e-mail support.

@Tec505
Mem use: about 10K total is average: runs two processes.
When BOC is scanning you may see a momentary "stutter", overall no difference for me whenin use as intended: back-up resource for security.

Regards.

I'm not questioning their reliabilty to get my money back. I wonder HOW they will pay me back. If it is a check, my bank will charge me for cashing in and those charges are quite high for international payments. If it is PayPal, it probably won't cost me anything.

If you pay by Credit Card they simple refund it to your Credit Card without charges for them. If you pay by PayPal they won't refund you because PayPal charges, and this is also the reason why NSClean does not like to be payed by PayPal (You won't even find that possibility on their page). I know that because i payed by PayPal and i agreed to that.

Thanks alot for the info and it sounds good. I'm not really familiar with credit cards and didn't know about the refund possibility. You taught me something new today and it wasn't even about malware.

Default Re: Is BOClean Enough For Anti-Spyware?

I posted a question to BOClean support team.

They answered me:
"No known issues with your listed software (BD 10 and ZAPro). BOClean uses minimal resources, with its system test spiking at under 5% typically. It'll be an excellent compliment to you security setup".

So according this answer and yours (Tommy, Longobard, John2g) there will be no problems with my installed sw.
But, I'm not sure what sw buy:
Renew Spysweeper, or buy ewido or buy TrendMicro Antispy.
Anyone can help me?

My best regards.
Mike

Answering the original question "Is BOClean Enough For Anti-Spyware?"
No, it's never enough, but BOClean is a good start. You have to start somewhere.

yup
i think i've seen 3 during my days fixin hjt logs
both very clean, only minor remnants of nasties in the registry, and then was 4.12
the current version is enhanced in many ways..especially in removal.

apart from the capabilities of boclean ( it is really very capable ), i think the rarity of infected logs with BOC on duty is because of the fact that many of its users ( home users ) are really security minded folks. they care about their security, thats why they have BOClean
