Sandboxing HIPS are still in infancy as far as their deveolpment is concerned but more and more people might be using them as part of layered defence. I have made this poll to see which sandboxing application is being used most widely here( if ever). Pls post ur choice, additional comments etc.
If you are using more than one of theses choices, pls choose the one u like most. Thanks

I use defensewall or Geswall depending on the machine. Both are very good additions to a layered defence

I have to add that i used for quiet a while Sandboxie and i was very pleased till version 2.6x come up. There have been several compatible problems with other applications i use, so i dropped it. Most enoying was the problem with Opera itself and the problem to secure new bookmarks of Opera.
It is a very light, simple in handling and - looking at comments on Wilders - a security prommising application.

I'm considering sandboxes, to use it in my frozen snapshot to prevent installation of malwares or to stop at least the execution of malwares.
As usual it's hard to find the right sandbox and the different opinions don't make it easier. Little children have lesser problems to find a sandbox. ![]()

None here. Still looking over the options (as well as HIPS and firewalls)

Geswall. It seems very effective.

Since the beginning of 2006, I continue to be a satisfied user of DefenseWall.

Sandboxie.
Allows virtually bulletproof browsing. Small footprint. Sufficiently impressed enough to send Tzuk my $. |

I use Sandboxie on occasion, only when I want to test apps that I do not trust yet and sometimes for saving .flv movies in an easy way. But I´m not using it to protect my browser fulltime yet, but in the future I probably will. Other tools either use to much resources (GreenBorder, BufferZone), or their GUI sucks (DefenseWall, GeSwall).

Hello,
Using none as a rule - but if I must, it would be DefenseWall. Mrk
