Hello,
That's the first good set of news I heard regarding the new MS OS.

The reason why Windows has so many problems is because Microsoft always opens up the system's internals to 3rd-parties, therefore leaving it open to attack and modification. That is Microsoft's weakness. But let's not forget that if MS opens the OS up to everyone, then more problems would occur. And somehow, my opinion of Microsoft keeping Vista's kernel closed has not changed.

I'm sure this was never part of Microsoft's original intentions for Windows Vista. They are doing this only because they are required to. I don't like the idea of kernel openings in Vista or later versions, considering how much 3rd-parties have done to windows. Competition in any industry is expected, even if it is unfair.

Well, if they want to open the kernel, fine. But let it be opened securely.

Hello,
They are feeding the baby that screams the most. That's what they're doing. Patching. The core problem in Windows is that applications are not self-contained, unlike Linux.
