I got a nifty new laptop and made an image with my copy of TI 8.0 onto a network drive. When I tested the restore, it rebooted, which is normal, but then TI couldn't "see" any hard drives. Is this an HP thing...e.g. hidden drives or an 8.0 thing that TI 9 might be able to solve?
Thanks, Jeff |

Hello Jeff,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software. We are very sorry for the delay with the response. Please be aware that version 8.0 is an older one and therefore may not support some modern hardware devices when it is running in the Linux-based Acronis Rescue Environment, i.e. when computer is booted from the Bootable Rescue CD, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager also known as "F11 feature" is used or computer is rebooted in order to perform the restore of a system disk\partition (this cannot be done within Windows for obvious reasons). First of all, please make sure you use the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 which is available for downloading in the Product Updates section of your account at Acronis web site. You can find the full version name and build number by going to Help -> About... menu in the main program window. To get access to updates you should create an account then log in and use your serial number to register the software. Note that you should create a new Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update. If the problem still persists with the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 then please download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home and see if the problem persists. Please uninstall Acronis True Image 8.0 by following Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Acronis True Image prior to installing the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home. If the problem is gone, please visit Acronis online store to purchase the upgrade. If the problem still persists with the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home, please try booting with the "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post (use the Bootable Rescue CD created with the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home). If booting with the "acpi=off noapic" parameter does not help, please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Note that sometimes the sysinfo.txt file is not readable under Windows. In this case please try entering the file name using capital letters (SYSINFO.TXT) or follow the instructions provided in this previous post of mine. If you do not have a floppy drive then please take a look at this previous post of mine explaining how to save the sysinfo.txt file to a USB flash drive. Please also let us know the exact vendors and models of your laptop and the hard drive installed in it. Then please submit a request for technical support. Provide the files and information collected in your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution as soon as possible. Thank you. -- Alexey Popov
