This test is made by CNET China and ZOL several days ago.

    The products are:
    Rising Anti Virus 2006
    Kingsoft Internet Security 2006
    Jiangmin KV2006
    Guanghua AV 2006
    Microsoft Live Onecare
    Norton Internet Security 2006
    PC-cillin Internet Security 2006
    Panda Tiatium 2006
    Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0
    Ahn Lab V3

    Let's see the result:

    http://bbs.hzva.org/attachments/ext_jpg/antiphish_ggRHTi8R03Xy.jpg

It seems that Guanghua performs very good. Is there any relationship between Guanghua and Kaspersky? Anyone knows about that?

if i remember fine, Guanghua uses various cracked databases etc. illegally. i would never use such a product.

It is very strange that Virus Chaser has not been included in this test. Considering that China is one of the main markets for Virus Chaser (through Virus Chaser China Limited), I am quite sure it should have had some sort of representation.

    Guganghua certainly looks very suspicious.

I don't trust this test, but find it strange nonetheless that Virus Chaser was not included due to the reasons described in my previous post.

Such test results should always be taken with a grain of salt. But nevertheless, all AVs from the country of origin should have been represented, regardless of reliability of the test.

Even the Consumer Reports "Test" and TopTenReviews (Which we all know is crap) feature almost all the products readily available in the area of testing. :)

hmm... thx for letting us know that info about Guanghua IBK. ;)
Anyway, I expected Rising to perform better, because they seem to add many defs daily and try to cover very well new ITW threats also. :doubt: (anyway maybe this test is not so accurate. :D )

Interesting how they matched their product with the best AV currently.

As I know, Virus Chaser shares a very low market in China.
Many people even had not heard about it.

Sorry. I made a mistake when I translate it in Photoshop. The number should be 103323.

That means Guanghua cracked the engine of other AV and use it as its own created engine? Too bad!! But it is a common practice in China. :thumbd:

I wonder what exactly had Guanghua cracked, the database or the engine? or both of them ?

For some products, the engine updates are included as part of the database updates :ninja:

So basically, both the engine and database were probably cracked. :D

Hi,folks: Cracked? Does this mean two things? (1) these brains at Guanghua are superior to those of victim apps? (2) how secure are these victim apps ? since they can be easily cracked. Safest place may not be safe anymore?:isay:

    That's not accurate.
In China , only Rising is hardworking enough to make itself perfect. Its new engine in the 2007vision have been optimized very fast , and still powerful.Every week RIsing adds morethan 4000 malwares to its library.
Jiangmin, maybe there is some relationship between Kaspersky.
K was argued with J last month because K thought J must have stolen its engine. But I must say that J's commandline scanner is pretty good and it belongs to J own. It should be the best. But its win-AV is really bad.
Kingsoft , I think, it looks like an advertising company. I never regard Duba as an AV. It is too beautiful , and with little tech.
About GuangHua......I used it for only 10 minutes .............you can imagine how terrible it is. And also this test shown by the first floor wasn't agreed by most people in china. Many people showed their disappointments as replys

If I remember correctly, Jiangmin once used a cracked Kaspersky engine but does not do so anymore.

As for Rising, I agree with you there, it is the most promising Chinese AV I have come across. Their analysts are very hard working, as I have seen from experience. I hope they keep it up. :)

    Rising also has some problems...

    about struggles among Senior managers...

The former cheif technial engineer Liu Xu had left 2 years ago and found a new company Micropoint: http://www.micropoint.com.cn

As a Chinese, I have complicated feelings. I don't want to say more about this.

Hi,folks: aluckystar, you mentioned Mr.Liu Xu has formed a company and created a micropoint proactive defense software, he has a beta version available for public testing. Have you had a chance testing it yet? I just wonder how different it would be in comparision with KAV's.

OH, U don't know the facts.
Micropoint is bad, anyone can get into any pcs with only micropoint by internet.
By the way, How can micropoints form a large library of actions in such a short time? That must be based on huge amouts of malwares. Where did they get the malwares? Oh, you also must know that Liu Xu occupies almost half of the Rising STKs. So ,now you should know what happened.
