Default SP2 Question

Hi,

I have a question about updating my Home Edition, Service Pack-1 XP to Service Pack-2. I sent away to M$ last year for an SP2 CD. I received it over a year ago but never applied it. Now I see time is running out for support of SP1.

Can I go ahead and use this year-old SP2 CD to upgrade to SP2? Or should I have M$ send me another, more recent, SP2 CD? Would the update CD for SP2 have changed in the mean time?

Any help with this issue would be appreciated! Thanks.

Default Re: SP2 Question

Go ahead and use the SP2 CD.
SP2 is SP2.
You will still need to go to Windows/MS update to get all the additional patches that have appeared since SP2.

Backing up before you apply SP2 would be a good idea too.
