Default valid archive but get cannot read file -- urgent

Hi. I am using TrueImage 9.0 home build 3677, and I hadwhat I thought was a valid backup as of yesterday -- then I made the mistake of installing vista on one of my drives and the system would not boot. So I tried to use the rescue media, but when I tried to select the partition it ran for about 10 seconds an said there were errors, but not much in the log. Nw eventually I was able to find the files elsewhere to reboot Windows, and tried to use the Windows version of the same build and got the followin error -- I was rstoring files and folders at that point.

Error reading the file. (0x40001)
Tag = 0x61F1883FE50B0A2D
Image corrupted (0x70020)
Tag = 0x0: Retry/Ignore/Cancel: User replied: Ignore

Now what file was lost and why did a validity check succeed when the archive was corrupt?

Wonder if this program neds more testing or something -- sometimes it works great, but then again...

Thanks.
