Default ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery

Looking into both HIPS and recovery software (like FirstDefense-ISR) from my new-ish laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T60p). But first thought I should really understand the capabilities and weaknesses of the "rescue & recovery" tools already included with the Thinkpad.

Does anyone know their way around "ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery"?

That is, is it an IBM product, or rebadged product from another developer? Is it reliable and capable enough so I won't need FD-ISR or Restore-It? Finally, are there any conflicts I should be wary of if I were to go with FD-ISR or RestoreIT, etc?

Thanks and regards!
