Yes, although it also performs better, taking little to no CPU while scanning memory. I would strongly encourage people to leave it or change to run every x hours unless it's really causing problems.

Agreed. That little box does get annoying. I'd rather it scan every few hours instead of having it slow down boot time.

This is one program I'm going to miss...

Hi Guys,

I'm new member but have been browsing the forums for well over a year.

I've had Prevx1 since January 06 and had not had any issue with it until i have just downloaded the new look "Fisher Price" GUI.
It's grown on me now but i have just seen something that really has kicked me right in the balls

See the attached image:

So Prevx1 is only good for removing Malware once, at which point you will need to purchase another license to remove any more malware you may get

WTF thats just Ghey

Hope Eset and others dont follow suit.

heres how pricing for prevx1 goes:
Quote:
Detection is free for life.
Cleanup is free until 32 days after your first infection.

After those 32 days you may (if you wish) continue to use Prevx1 for detection for free. If you get infected, you may clean it up yourself if you wish.

If you wish Prevx1 to cleanup such an infection you will need to purchase a cleanup license. You do not have to do this as soon as the inital 32 days expires, you may wait until you get reinfected if you wish. If you choose to buy clean up, you currently have two choices in that: 1 month or 1 year.

FTO

I don't think you get it, it's free until you get any malware that's cleaned, then you have to buy a one year license, just like Eset and the others.

Aye It wasnt clear, I thought it was notifying me and not everyone in general.
I was worried that although I have 153days left on my license I;d need to purchase a new license each time prevx removes malware

Some people just want to use Prevx1 to remove malware, this makes it so those people can leave it installed and just buy a 1 month license here and there as needed, and the trial basically doesn't start until you actually see it in action. If you have a 1 year license, then you're good for that year

The automated analysis is always being enhanced in several ways, but especially within the community database.
