Good looking GUI. Hope it is as strong in the detection and cleaning as it looks. ;)

New kid on the block at $14,99 for a 1 year worth of updates not bad there either. :)

Hopefully it is light on RAM too.

I bet your right. That's good news, their engine is fast but has a high detection rate. :)

EDIT: mrhero, do you have the link to pre-order site?

Yep, I'm pretty sure the engine is AVIRA.

Though it may look very attractive at $14.99 for a year, I bet that Ashampoo has disabled the spyware detection features in this program (because if this product detected spyware, then who would buy the AntiSpyware application?)

However, if it is the full-fledged version with spyware detection, then Ashampoo will have my money. :D

Maybe this is a dumb question, but I have to ask. Is the name pronounced "A" Shampoo? Shampoo as in the stuff you wash your hair with?

Ok. I guess the name isn't that important, as long as it's a quality product.

earlier ashampoo representative had denied claims that their new firewall isn't a rip-off of mcafee firewall,so i am not sure if this avira in disguise..
any news from avira's side to support this?
anyhow, plz can anyone post the link to this product..

lol, yeah the name is funny, never understood the meaning of it. Maybe
some German speaking member can clarify this. I never used their AS but
I'm using the burning software. They mean business when it comes to do
what they claim. I'm waiting for a trial.

Is it true that their FW is based upon McAfee FW? Also what is the base of their AS and how u people guess that AV is based upon Avira?
    Thanks.

Firewall is their in-house solution. As for antivirus it can only be BitDefender. Judging by description of 470.000 signatures and behavior blocking capabilities (B-HAVE). I don't think they could bring out 470.000 detections out in so short time using their inhouse stuff.

Well, Bit Defender shows 480127 signatures in database and Avira 482813 virus strains and unwanted programs.

From the screenshot I see 480396. I think RejZor is right. They use Bit Defender. Anyway, it's bad they give no trial...at least 15 days. :(

Yes, signature cound and mention of behavior detections which aren't included in AntiVir. So it's BitDefender. Though very odd that they don't provide any trial...
