Default Newbee requires assistance please

My problem is : I wish to rid myself of Symantec Norton Anti-virus and have heard that Nod32 compares more than favourably with Norton and is less resource iintensive.

So I downloaded trial version of Nod32, installed ok but have problem which is :

I get the message: "Microsoft Outlook. Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request."

I use Pocomail in conjunction with Mailwasher Pro.

Is there anyway to setup Nod32 in conjunction with these programs or am I stuck with Norton's ?.

Your advice/assistance would be appreciated.

I believe that error is caused because NOD32 is configured to use the MAPI interface, which you don't want... You can stop the error by disabling that particular option. See this:

Cannot find "Use MAPI interface"

Your suggestion regarding MAPI interface fixed my problem. Many thanks.
I have 2 further questions which I have not been able find an answer to on the forum.
1. I have used nod32kui.exe as my virus scanner in
Pocomail for checking my e-mails and each e-mail
appears as scanned in IMON status page. OK. I have
also used same file as virus scanner within my
download manager, but nowhere in Nod32 can I see
that downloaded file (zip, rar) has been automatically
scanned at download completion (eg like in NAV). How
can I be sure that downloaded file has been scanned
and is safe to open?.
2. When I open Nod32 interface , I am confronted with
the following Run Nod32 and Local buttons. Naturally
if I select Run Nod32 button, I can manually run scan,
clean selected drives. However if I select Local button
(scan local disks) I get the following again :
"Either there is no default mail client or the current
mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please
run MS Office Outlook and set as default e-mail client."
If I hit Ok button on this dialog box Nod32 scanning window appears automatically and scan begins without any further imput from me. A quick check that "use MAPI interface box is still unchecked in Nod32 set up. It is. Is this normal or a "bug" within Nod32?.

My apologies for such along post and probably naieve questions. However, your advice/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
