I have NOD32 set on Automatic Updates. It has not updated since Mon 7/24 (version 1.1677) When I try to manually update, it says that it is up to date and yet the Eset website states that it is on Version 1.1680.
I have tried all of the Eset servers and also Automatic several times. |

Long story made short:
Version 1.1678 was a HUGE update, and the update servers could not keep up with the demand. Paying users received priority over trial users, but even some paying users had trouble getting the updates. Things are getting back to normal, so you should eventually receive your updates. Marcos has stated that they already have plans to expand the capacity of their update servers, so by the next time a huge update like this comes along (3-4 times/year), this should not be a problem anymore. |

Are you using the trial version by any chance?
Because I have no trouble updating with the full version, and it just downloaded 1.1681. Anywho, there are a lots of other threads explaining how it works (trial vs. full).

I have the paid version.
It seems to me that any decent security software should not mislead the customer by stating that the software is up to date rather than stating that the servers are busy. This sort of behavior does not leave the customer with a great deal of confidence in the software developer's ability to provide the security that he paid for. |

Did you recently become a paid user? If so - did you replace the trial with the full version as your welcome email should have told you? I know it's not necessary with the very latest trial, but if you had a trial that was earlier than the one that can be downloaded now, then removal of the trial is necessary to get the full software version - this might explain the lack of updates - of course there are other reasons... but this sounds a likely scenario. hth Greg

Trial users are still being denied any update, and I really don't think anyone believes that Eset has such a huge-database of users that the servers are 'overloaded'.
I will give it another 24 hrs, then might have to go looking again ![]() |
