Our backup strategy is to save the Images to a NAS and then take a tape backup of the NAS for offsite storage. We are using TI 9.1 for the Image and for backing up the Image from the NAS to Tape.
Is it possible to do a bare metal restore of a server from a Tape if the contents are simply a folder backup (using Acronis TI 9.1)? If not what would be the proper procedure for extracting/restoring the folder? Thank you, |

Hello jabouley,
Thank you for your interest in Acronis Backup Software Please note, that you will be certainly capable of restoring your server system from a tape drive using Acronis Bootable Media. Thank you. -- Fedor Kurbatov

I guess I was looking for more feedback than it will work.
As you can see from my initial question the data stored on tape is not an Image backup but a File backup of the Image. What I am worried about is that in the event of having to use the tape the restore will be two step process. The first will be to "restore" the files. The second will be to restore the Image. Am I way off base here? Additionaly, a question arose pertaining to the Tape backup job. If we forgot to place another tape in the drive will it prevent other scheduled jobs from running? Does the job eventually time out? Thank You, |
