Default FDISR & Total Uninstall

I didn't try this yet, but what do you think about this.

1. Snapshot-1 = winXPproSP2 + Total Uninstall (TU)
2. I copy snapshot-1 to snapshot-2
3. I copy snapshot-2 to snapshot-3
The final result : I have 3 snapshots with the same contents.

4. I boot in snapshot-1 and I install Adobe Reader (AR) monitored by TU.
5. I boot in snapshot-2 and I install CCleaner (CC) monitored by TU.
6. I boot in snapshot-3 and I install Amust Registry Cleaner (ARC) monitored by TU.

7. I copy/update from snapshot-2 to snapshot-1
8. I copy/update from snapshot-3 to snapshot-1

After that :
Snapshot-1 = winXPproSP2 + TU + AR + CC + ARC.
I'm sure that AR, CC and ARC will be fine, but what about TU ?
My assumption is that TU is corrupted or at least not correct.

(I can keep TU correct, if I don't do it this way, but than the fun would be gone.)

No ErikAlbert

Snapshot #1 would only contain 'winXPproSP2 + TU +ARC.' That's it!.

ROFL. Actually what you will have is snapshot -1 will be WinXPproSP2 + ARC
period. Step 7 ended up being a waste of time. TU will be fine per Snapshot-3.

Note the updates aren't cumulative. So in step 7 you over wrote snapshot-1 with Snapshot-2 Then In step 8 you again over wrote Snapshot -1 with Snapshot-3

Yeah, I can understand the confusion.
When you do copy/update (or refresh? ), you should be thinking of 'make equal to'.

Files that exist in #3 and don't exist in #1 will be copied to #1.
Files that exist in #1 and don't exist in #3 will be deleted from #1.

The result will be that #1 is equal to #3, while #3 is dominant.

Oh I see, my mistake. Well if I would have tried it for real, I would have noticed it of course.
I can understand why everybody is laughing at me now.

I think this is much better.

1. Snapshot-1 = winXPproSP2 + Total Uninstall (TU) + AR monitored by TU.
2. I copy/update snapshot-1 to snapshot-2
3. I reboot in snapshot-2 and install CC monitored by TU
4. I copy snapshot-2 to snapshot-3
5. I reboot in snapshot-3 and install ARC monitored by TU.

After that :
Snapshot-3 = winXPproSP2 + TU + AR + CC + ARC and TU will be fine.
If I refresh Snapshot-1 with snapshot-3 both are equal.

Not really laughing at you. It just was funny. Besides we've all done stuff like that, thats partly why it is funny.

Yep that gets it. Actually you could also skip refreshing snap-1 at the end at have a fallback to any of the situations if you so chose.
