Default Popularity of AV's in years

I've made a small search in Google trends. Graphics shows search frequency of terms:

http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/9...spersky5ae.jpg

Norton and Mcafee's popularity in decrease. Others increase, Avast is winner.

Only "Avast" . Both of them. But most people want Avast free, IMO.

Google trends ....kind of reminds me of a ole country saying....useless as tits on a bore hog

I would however like to play....so since I have no dog to hunt as far as best\better AV's I'll throw out my favorite Google trend as compared to Avast. We will catch up with ya someday

I agree, such statistics are meaningless.

If anything Symantec/Norton is clearly mentioned more throughout the web and newsgroups, if only to complain about Symantec/Norton.

And most asnything that is allegedly free will have a disproportionate share of references, deserved or not.

Nice statistic mrhero. It nicely proofs the trend of the new, fast & quality AVs.
Norton and Mcafee are dinosaurs these days, mostly only companies use them.

I would like to add here that the word "avast", "mcafee" and "norton" does not relate to antivirus software only. If one does a web search, one also gets webpages which are not related to antivirus software.

NOD is also on an ascending path. Keep going that way. Perhaps version 3.0 will make the difference.
